MAJOR Hi, we decided to change the band logo from the current fugly red food paramid thing to something else. However, we need your help in the logo design. So can you all help by designing the band logo and pass it to us? Try to draw as big as possible. Thanks! We need to get as many designs as possible by you guys. Can do more than one, as long as an idea strikes you. SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?! RUN FOR THE PENCIL AND PAPER AND SPIT OUT ALL YOUR CREATIVITY. Deadline: 6 April, Monday (loads of time to do.) 12:08 AM | Friday, January 23, 2009
CCA FAIR Im pleased to announce that the number of confirmed* sec 1s who are interested to join the band is....................................................... 120! (not 143, unfortunately.) *i double checked and crossed out repeated names in the list. I really am glad that all of you had put in effort to this CCA Fair and really tried ur best to pull in sec 1s to get them interested in the band. fortunately, all our efforts have paid off! 120! 120! :) whooh! good job everyone! sigh, yes i know that some of you feel kinda down when i told u guys to bring home your instrument. please dun feel all glum and gloomy. but we really have to make sure that everyone is ready on thursday to march and play 'Marching Along' well for the video. not only that, syf is also coming real soon and we havent even finish our Overture No.1! Come on band, let's all endure until syf! Let's all put in our best in this competition that we have been working for since last year!! Our aim is SILVER right?!! Are you guys even SURE that you really want a SILVER? if you are, THEN SHOW IT. come on we can do this! please please practice! even juz brushing up on a few bars and or juz going thru those few bars that you might have difficulty in (running notes etc.) is enough. (though, it would be better if you could do more...) *'there is no substituition for hard work.' -Clare- 11:48 PM | Thursday, January 22, 2009

For the first time as far as i know, we had band practice for 7 full days. yes, 7 consecutive ones since last saturday. Ok, as you all know its mostly due to the CCA Fair Rehearsal. On thursday, Mr Yea borught us all to some footdrills at the end of the day. After that whole break from band during the last few weeks of holidays, our standard dropped back to where we were before Mr Yea had trained us from. Now, we have to start from scratch, all over again.. And, yesterday was the rehearsal for CCA Fair. Firstly we went up late, the teacher scolded us. Secondly, we played very horribly. Claim to have reasons behind this, but do you think they are reasons? or not? If we continue to play like this for CCA Fair, we wont be about to recruit enough members to uphold the strength of the band and we will see that everything is going to get real bad after this batch of Secondary 3 members pass out next year. And if we continue how we play Light of Dawn for SYF, just say goodbye to what, we claim, to be aiming for. Come on Band, you all have to just put in that little more effort. Work hard for now, you can always have fun after SYF. And Sec 4 Seniors, please just try your best to attend practices and work together with all of us for the coming competition. You know that we can't do without you. On this coming monday, do your best during practice and don't let Mr Tan down or get angry. During sectionals on wednesday, work on all the parts you have difficulty in the two pieces. Dont be complacent and think that you are already very good. No matter what, there is always space for MORE improvements. and, On Thursday, be as welcoming as possible, remain fun and encourage as many secondary ones as possible to JOIN BAND. Mr Yea will be conducting the performance, so do your best. Go memorise your pieces now IF you havent done so. So, let's just hope that all will go fine for this week and that neither the instructors will get pissed off or too stressed. It's time for more motivation. +an accent.++ 1:12 AM | Thursday, January 1, 2009
