I AM LIKE GONNA BLOG ABOUT BAND FROM WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY.

WEDNESDAY:

ok, it was supposingly to be sectionals n every wed but this week, we had something different. it was a day for packing for alllll of us. mainly, only the brass section was supposed to pack while the woodwinds were decorating the band notice board. but because the materials came late, so everyone ended up packing their cupboards. all of our cupboards were in a great mess and we packed till our hands almosts broke and eyes almost popped while sorting all the scores out. i hate packing and will never do that again... some sections just finished the packing so early while the others lasted for many many hours.... when everyone stopped packing they started have fun and making loads of noise. so Mdm alya came in and started giving us work to do. she also told us of something which we must do which was the creation of labels of our names on the chairs. so when those labels are all done, we would all have our very own labelled chair. isnt that cool? yeah right....
so then when 6pm came, everyone started leaving one by one.

Thursday:

it was awards ceremony rehearsal that day. we all got ready early and started waiting outside of the hall for the rehearsal to start. but in the end they told us that it would only start at like 4.30pm. so then we started dispersing into many places doing the things we wanted to do like homework and the unfinished notice board decoration, while some of us stayed at third level to take care of the instruments. so at around 4.3o we went back into positions to get ready and we played. then after that waited for the finale to come and went on stage to sing. right. here comes the irritating part. The teacher-in-charge actually pointed out the Band for not singing and smiling during the finale even when most of us did.Then she said that if we dont smile and sing, They will take us out from the whole thing. DAMN. And when reading out the CCAs they practically forgotten about the Band. Mdm Alya conforted us by saying that it was the Band's 'tradition' to be not serious during rehearsals until it was the real thing. so then they had another one more rehearsal for the finale and we were sent home at aroung 6.30pm.

FRIDAY:

it was the full- dress rehearsal today. we were released early form class to prepare for the rehearsal but then, the bandroom was used by the aesthetic class and so we could not practice and had to change in the bandroom quietly. so after everyone changed, we all settled down at mdm alya's homeroom and practiced singing the finale song to prevent being scolded again. This time, everyone sang sang and sang. then mdm alya brought us through this mind therapy thing which i forgot the name to prepare us for the rehearsal. after that, at 1.35pm, we all went back to the music room to set our instruments, warm-up and get ourselves tuned. The teacher said that everything was alright, except we have to play louder.

SATURDAY:

We same kinda early (cause though some of us were late, we werent punished)and we sat there crapping... Some of us set our instruments but some were just not motivated enough. We played the Chromatic scale as a Band, then we were instructed to change into our Band Uniform. Then to test out her light-stick, BM Melodi tried it out in the dark as she conducted the Traditional Fanfare. It works fine.

We crapped in small groups. Some of us were already hungry then even though we ate lunch, so we ask Mr Rama whether we could eat the muffins and drink the milo that the Bandies brought up for us. So one by one we came up and took our food. Yum. After that we carried our instruments and went up to the third floor to play the Fanfare. Mdm Alya and the rest were happy in our playing (we thought so too, since we were blasting our lungs out)so everyone cheered. YAY. The light-stick didnt help though, many didnt notice it. And we sat there and crap again while Elysia, Vivian and Stephanie went up for the prize giving and the CS performance. The DM and the BM went around to take some pics with us to keep as memory as they are gonna pass out soon. WE ROCKS.

then we put make-up. suck.
And we went up and sang the Finale and the end. Alumnis came Back! (: So we went to the canteen to get free food and our dinner was solved.

-No one is supposed to play the piano, except during breaktimes and before/after Band.

That MS was supposed to blog about Monday, perhaps she had forgotten about it.
And I am blogging today.

So I will sum it all up into one entry.

Yesterday we went to the reahearsal for a while but before that Mr Tan scolded us cause we were here early and yet we did not start setting the chairs and our instruments, and start tuning. "So only until the magical '2.45' then you all can start going in the storeroom ah." So we were all quiet until He called the Brass section, Percussion to stay in the Bandroom and Woodwinds section outside to practice. Before He could actually start,the phone rang and then He told the woodwinds section to get in the Bandroom and told everyone(without their instruments, cept Perc section need to bring windchimes for the sound effect for Centre Stage) to go downstairs for the rehearsal. Mr Tan was angry He cant continue Band practice. ): He stayed in the Bandroom and taught the Percussion sec twos.

Then the whole rehearsal thingy was a waste of time. The Band came back, and Mr Tan suddenly got strict and serious with us and pointed the obvious mistakes (that He didnt actually do before). I am actually kinda happy about this haha.

Ex-BM Devon came back. To help the trumpet section.(:

Then He got angry when the two perc seniors didnt came back after a long while cause they are the ones doing the sound effects... and they complained about it anyways. He wanted them to come down.. so He sent DM Mui Ghern. They were nearly out of breath when they came back.

Okay i shant rant about Mon any more... The rest i cant really remember. Except Mr Tan talked bout his daughter being funny and all(: .And his body languages told us we played horribly.


Tues is a horrible and tiring day. The end.

Band Notice:

Those who are performing for the Awards ceremony, Bring the following items on Mon.

Sec 2s: Bring your School Skort, court shoes(black with heels), and the School blouse (which you will be wearing to sch on rehearsal days).

Sec 3s: Bring your Band Skort, court shoes, tie, and the School blouse.

Sec 4s & 5s: Bring your Band Skort, long-sleeved blouse, tie, court shoes.


As for Sec twos, its better buy court shoes as you are gonna wear it for later occasions. Or you can borrow them if you dont have any. Its those flat-heel ones. Not those pokey pokey sharp-heel ones. Musnt have any designs on.

DONATION OF SPORTS ITEMS

Mrs Elan is appealing to the CCAs to take part in the donation of sports items. The CCA with the most donates will get reward. If you have any pls bring them on Monday, and sumit them to the General Office as a Band.

The BRICK is here cause Hay told her to blog about monday as she thought that you all might be sick of her blogging all the time. SO HERE IS BRICK! :) anyway, she was busy yesterday so can only do it now. heehee...

so anyway, MONDAY BAND PRACTICE~

well, as per normal, Mr Tan came for practice with us. Right at the start of Band practice, we had our warm-ups in our own sections. Then Mr Tan brought out the Saxophone section to the classroom beside the bandroom to check on them. oh well, so the rest of us just stayed in the bandroom and we practice with the help of seniors conducting.

Then, around 4.30pm. Mr Tan came back to the room with the saxphonists and he gave us all a break. though it was one, we end up praticing instead. At around 5pm, We finally had our full combined practice with Mr Tan. First song that we went through, BRS. then we were going through bar 21 onwards when He asked the Saxophone to play those few bars. He said that they all played very well and was one of the sections which could get the articulation out well. He must have heard those portions when He check on them earlier on. anyway kudos to them. :)

Anyway, it was reaching at around 6pm when Mr Tan finally saw the time and quickly switched to playing QPM. so we went through and through and through. He said we played like possessed people. i cant really remember what happened. but oh well....

so we packed up and fall in to get ready to get home. i think thats all. oh and the brass will be playing for the Awards ceremony on the 29th March. the end.

BRICK && with the help of HAY.

Something went wrong with blogger, the entry which Brick typed earlier bout Wednesday was not saved or published.

stupid blogger.

Anyways its not much. Mr Tan conducted the Main Band and Mr Yea taught the Sec ones in the AVA room. Cause other rooms were occupied.
Main Band played CBC, Mr Tan got frustrated cause a perc/percs gave qian bian look and didnt play well. poor Mr Tan. I wanna punch her face... You better know who you are, qian bian girl. Actually some didnt thought CBC was boring, in fact it was fun. Before He walked out, He ask the band whether we want to play fun music and have fun (not "boring" warm ups like CBC) or come and build the band into a better one. So BM agreed agreed half of each. Well, arent having fun playing warm ups. TO ME LAH. (:

Then He go AVA room check out the juniors. Told us to take a break.
Thought that juniors were cute.

Then came back and gave us scolding again. He picked up a phone call, talking about what He wanna eat for lunch. eggs, chicken, vege. no beef please. Said our Band make Him happy and angry cause after that He joked to us. So ironic.

Practiced BRS. Said we improved a bit (only).
THEN THAT DARN DREADED TWELVE OCLOCK CAME. They went.

We supposed to have catering of food but in the end we got the canteen to do it at a resonable price. The food was nice. Though it did not suit some bandies's taste.

After lunch , we were told to rinse our mouth before we play. Then we had sectionals and practiced. and practiced. and practiced.

The end. I cant rmb everything that happened after that.

oh, Mdm Alya had a talk with us.. about minimising our sound and be considerate cause there were complaints. And she said our attendance was good, which contradicts what Mr Tan said. Said about playing some Wedding march for 70th.

Yo bandies.
Sorry we havent been updating cause Brick was busy. (:
Only a few went as many had CIP and the Suzhou trip then the band very less people only. Cause the band room was opened late, band started half an hour later. Aww. Mr Yea then took the sec ones out as usual.

Emmelyn and Jaclyn conduct BRS and QPM. Help us with the songs. Nothing much happend actually. 10.30 had sectionals, went to practice our pieces.

Full band yay. Mdm Alya played the cornet but she died off at her solo in QPM and Mr Yea played the drumset. They were great.Then we played louder heh. Band end then we fall out, while Mdm Alya called the sec ones to her room.

Lets welcome the two new sec ones!! Anabelle (euph) & Hui Wen(horn).

If you guys dont wanna play BRS, wanna play harder song then practice your BRS until its perfect luh.(:

HAYHAY

Many seniors nv come, got CIP.
Mdm Alya came with the keys late, went in late.
So like she said this was a chance to know who was suitable for the next leaders, cause not much seniors came and whether we can manage our own sections well without the help of them.
Got some complaints from a neighbour beside our sch that the Band was too noisy, wth.
Dont know how to appreciate noise then why buy a house here, you are the one of the only ones who compalain loh. So its not our fault. We also not having band everyday.

Mr Yea came in and took the juniors out to Mdm Alya's homeroom for practice.
We stayed in the band room for sectionals. We practice the songs though some people got bored and started to go other sections and practice with them. Then of course they will talk. Tried to play Queen's Park together and with the help of the metronome and the Drumset, so we tried our best not to stop halfway through the song.

Went for 10 mins break. came back, practice moremore.

Many people want to play Chorale and Jubiloso for SYF. Grade 3 song :)

11.30 came and seniors told us to fall in. Made a joke out of Elysia "Sir". Whoa, that natural born leader man. And then we had to demonstrate the fall out to the new recruits. And we went home and practice more.
